Gavin started wrestling at 5 years old, and has been training with Drew Ash at 10th Planet Boulder since 2015. He has experience competing in Brazilian jiu jitsu, submission grappling, folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman wrestling, and placed in the top 8 of Colorado's high school state wrestling tournament. Gavin received his purple belt from Drew in 2020
